Pendragon's Book Binding use to offer a "Build Your Own" book service, where you could customize your book any way you wanted right here on our website for a flat price. Unfortunately, the orders came back so specific and unique that it ended up costing us out of pocket to find the materials requested. We still offer Fully Customized books, but we will have to send you a quote based on each project's specs. Here's how to get started:

1 Pick a Book Package
We can do a custom book of any size, but here is a list of the book sizes we usually have the materials for in stock:
5.5" x 4.5" binding package's Base Price is $20.
8.5" x 5.5" binding package's Base Price is $30.
8.5" x 11" binding package's Base Price is $40.
8.5" x 5.5" Manuscript or Project binding: based on page count and whether it's Black/White or Color (we only do this size in b/w in house--everything else is sent out for and cost is based on their printing).
We do give discounts for bulk orders--contact us for an estimate on these orders.
Don't see the size book you want? We can do any size book, but outside of these basic packages, the cost may go significantly up, depending on our cost of that paper.
Remember, these are just base prices to give you an idea where the price will start. The rest of the cost will be in the details you want, ie: full leather wrap, special-order papers, dividers, ect, and how much it will cost us to acquire them or how much additional time it requires us to make. We will be happy to break down the cost for you on our quote.

2 Design a Cover
Every book needs a cover. Do you want it hardbound? Or perhaps Softbound, fully wrapped in leather? We need an idea of what you're wanting for your book. Did you see something on the website that you'd like us to try and recreate? Let us know! If you're not sure, you can browse our "Idea Gallery" to help spark your imagination. Here's a list of things to decide on:

Approx how many pages do you want inside? lined or blank?
What do you want on the cover? We have a selection of fabrics, handmade papers, or we can find craft paper in a variety of themes and prints.
If softbound, what kind of leather/material do you want?

Lastly, decide what fancy details you want for your book. You can look through the "Options" page for our most common requests that usually don't add any cost to your order. Some of those choices include: Splattered Pages, Tattered Edge Covers, Fancy Spine and more!
Or come up with something of your own! Whatever it is, just be sure to include this in your project request.
If you don't want to figure out all these details, you can tell us what you want for your cover and then let us design the rest--we've done a few!

We'll contact you via email to finalize your customization and go over any additional questions we have. We will send you a quote, make changes if necessary, and arrange payment before the project begins.
Then We get to work!
The rest is done by us, and we'll email you along the way with updates of your project and, of course, when it's on its way!
We estimate 1-2 weeks on standard book-type orders after the time we start working on it to the time it's ready to ship--pending on the project and number of books ordered, of course. More complex projects can take longer, pending. Start time fully depends on how many projects we have before yours and what our schedule is at the time. We happily bind away on most Mondays-Fridays, 8am-5pm.
Anything else? Shipping/Refunds
~You will receive a confirmation email for your order. I send all these emails myself, so please be patient if you do not receive one immediately. I may not be online at the time that your order comes through, or could be out of town for the weekend.
~We ship from Salt Lake City, UT.
~Pre-made books bought on our website will ship via USPS either the same-day or the following business day of receiving payment (unless we are out of town). Orders received on Fridays may not ship until Monday. Delivery speed depends on USPS. Overnight or rush delivery is available at additional cost.
~We accept payments via Paypal through the checkout (it also handles Visa/Mastercard type payments). If you need to pay via another method, please contact us. Customized Books are not made and pre-made books are not shipped until after payment is received.
~Once we start physical construction on your Manuscript & Project binding, we can't make changes. The first thing we do is print your text! So be sure you ask whatever questions you need while we're processing your pages with you. note: Customized blank/lined Journals can start construction as soon as the same day we receive the order, without further email contact.
~Customized Orders: since these are all Hand Made To Order, there are no refunds once we've started. If there's a problem after you've received one of our books, please let us know. Every book is inspected for quality :) by me. Pre-made books: Please ask any questions prior to your order. We do not offer refunds.
~Rush orders are accepted at an additional fee, determined by the size of your order. Please contact us directly for more information--and to find out if your order is subject to this fee. Although our books are normally finished within a very short period of time, if other previously ordered projects have to be put on hold to finish yours first, the "rush order" fee may apply.
